I'm having trouble making glass objects that can be imported into doom 3.
I tried some tutorials about making glass objects but haven't been able to have any of them to work in doom 3.

Help needed urgently.

You mean breakable glass in the game?.. You should just make them with patch meshes directly inside the editor.

Not break glass but about making objects that are transparent in doom 3.

This is an issue related only to the Doom3 material definition of the material that the object is made of. It is controlled by the *BITMAP line in the exported .ASE file.

I don't know the existing material names for glass surfaces in D3, but other people here surely will.

The shader/material properties that you assign to the object in Max are irrelevant, Doom3 only looks at the *BITMAP line of the material properties in the ASE.

So if i change the *BITMAP line of the material properties in the ASE, the object will work correctly. Does anyone know a good glass *BITMAP setting that can be used and that will give me the properties of glass in doom 3.
