I only invested in a PC so that I could investigate game modification.  I run a simple system, and it is not even connected to the internet.
<br /><br />I share a broadband connetion with my house mate which I pick up with an Airport Extreme card.  I could share my connection with the PC (i've tried a crossover cable) but I just cannot get my Mac and PC to talk to each other?

I've done it.  Windows networking won't work perfectly (actuatly, I've had BETTER luck with Linux computer on a windows netwoking then windows machines...).
<br /><br />i'd just hook both computer up to a hub, then hook that to the router your net comes in to.

<br /><br />Not really, you need to be online to install it and not to play it.
