Second, you can't just move images into a specific directory and expect them to work. Doom 3 engine based games use material shaders which in turn reference images and thier locations.

What do you mean you have the mtr file for it? If you have already defined a shader in that file, just put the sky textures into whatever directory the shader calls out, but do not put them into the game's pk4s, as Rich says.
