this is a monster i have been working on for a while, off and on, as my skills with 3d have grown. i have learned a lot about 3d through this guy. he has been christened "the blowjob monster" at college, for obvious reasons. i am aware he looks kinda like something from HL1. that was not my plan. i just sorta made up the model as i went along.

please view the small animations. i love how the mouth works. i will probably be looking for someone to help me get this guy up and working in Doom3, then i will set him free for all to use.

Holy shet!!! Id be scared if i seen that. Nice man gj!!!

Give it some detail though!!! A nice bump map would be great!

yay. someone noticed my monster!!! :) yea, it has yet to be fed through zbrush for its normal mapping. i just have a diffuse map on there. was pretty focused on getting the bone rigging right. it was tricky figuring out a way to get the mouth moving like that. i just hope it imports into the doom engine ok.
glad you like it.

The idea is cool. You could give him a bit more polies, since he needs roundness of the face and such things.

Now let us talk about texture. Notice how reptilians or other animals have different colored skin on different body parts? Even you have that yourself. A good example (if you are a white guy) are your fingers. The tips of them are most of the time a bit more pinkish than the palm of the hand.
Apply some of this to your monster. Make his joints (elbows? knees?) colored differently. Add a dark tinted specular map and a normalmap to this critter, to break up the blandness of his skin.

Hey there!

I simply love your monster, although as the guys said, it lacks a bump map, possibly a specular map for the teeth :)
Oh oh and a name! :D

possibly 'The Sirth', sorry I have always loved making up names on the spot :D

Nice work!
Scott.
