(newb warning)

I have a model that was only intended to be seen from the front, so the polys are single sided. I want to make it viewable from both sides, however. I tried using the surface editor and enabling double-sided, which seemed to work...it looked right in the editor, at least. But in game, the object is still transparent from behind.

What else do I need to do?

You can just make the material for it 2 sided. Look at materials defs for stuff like girders and whatnot.

EDIT: Something strange is definitely going on in that pic though, you get a shadow from it like it was twosided, but only one side is visible.

Cool, the old trick that... uhm... trick the brain :D

You can just ignore the double sided option in Lightwave, it works in lightwave but not Doom3. You have to add "2sided" in the Doom material declaration, like Kristus said.

Can't remember the right spell atm...
