The first episode of my "episodic map pack" for Prey is available for download.

The goal is to create a singleplayer, interactivity-driven first-person story that will hopefully appeal to Prey fans and generally to 3DRealms fans, as well as portray some locations that differ from, and have a higher interactivity level than, the usual space stations levels.
The famous Portal Wrench mod (thank you Sars!) is included in this project, and sometimes, the only way to make progress will be to open some dynamic portals. Portals have a lot more potential than just being used as doorways, and I hope to unlock some of it.
The title is "Altered Reality" because that's what the story is about. A malevolent entity is slowly altering Tommy's reality, and the disruptions will become more and more severe as the story progresses.

The site for the project is http://alteredreality.altervista.org .
Here are some screenshots of what you will encounter in the first episode. They have been taken at a resolution of 800*600, at medium quality. Note that the in-game graphics are not censored in any way. The SRG logo is a watermark with my initials I applied to the screenshots, it's not present in game.

Prey got fans? I thought the release of the game took care of that. :p (I speak from experience)

Let me guess: you were hyped up by the first level and totally disappointed by everything that followed. That's why my mod is set in a city on Earth and has a higher interactivity than the average Prey level.

I like Prey, I'd be playing it online if there were anyone else playing.

Thanks I'll be sure to download

No, I was impressed by all the work that the original team had done back in the late nineties, and were totally bummed out by the silly crap that was released.

I think that's a matter of interpertation. I love every oozing second of Prey. It's so thick in it's atmosphere, wonderful.

I meant it to be disturbing. Think about it: an alien is trying to destroy Tommy's life, and he (the alien) will dare to do anything, ANYTHING, to turn Tommy's life into a living nightmare.
How would you react, if you heard someone speaking with YOUR voice on the radio, trying to pass as you, saying where you are in that very moment, and saying you did perverted things to little boys, while you know you did nothing of the sort? Think about the kind of emotion you'd feel. Panic, desperation, you'd think you're going crazy. That's exactly what I tried to convey.

Let me guess: you were hyped up by the first level and totally disappointed by everything that followed. That's why my mod is set in a city on Earth and has a higher interactivity than the average Prey level.
