Ivan_the_B@Posted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:16 pm : Wow, this will be useful indeed

The Happy Friar@Posted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 1:54 am : never did like the way google display stuff, or their searches, so odds are i'll still use the phpbb "search" function, but nice.
possible issue: you have the "google search", then a line of text saying to visit the forums/mod wiki, then an ad. It took some searching to find that line of text because it's sandwiched between two google things. Maybe move the line, possible to a slightly bigger font, right above the new posts.

Me neither, but Google has acquired a sort of reputation in building search engines

It's just an additional option which can get fine tuned later to adjust the display of search results.

That's true and related to the fact how strangely I wrote the front end for the board a few years ago (in early 2003) and while it's still cool to see it working without an error, I didn't put enough forethought into template editing. It's html snippets all over the place.

I don't think the board provides this functionality. Surely not too hard to code with a phpBB mod, but before starting to modify the site heavily I want to wait for a gold release of phpBB3 (so far it's only a release candidate).
What I pretty much dislike is that images like the one you've attached open without any framework in the same window.

I'm glad you're happy, one satisfied, a thousand more to go

I don't think the board provides this functionality. Surely not too hard to code with a phpBB mod, but before starting to modify the site heavily I want to wait for a gold release of phpBB3 (so far it's only a release candidate).
What I pretty much dislike is that images like the one you've attached open without any framework in the same window.

Ivan_the_B@Posted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 9:16 pm : Wow, this will be useful indeed

The Happy Friar@Posted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 2:54 am : never did like the way google display stuff, or their searches, so odds are i'll still use the phpbb "search" function, but nice.
possible issue: you have the "google search", then a line of text saying to visit the forums/mod wiki, then an ad.

Still screwing around - they're supposed to be a little smaller

BNA!@Posted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 8:44 pm : Since the search function of the board is someties a bit skewy we've added a google site search on the front page:
http://www.doom3world.org/index.phpEnjoy.

BNA!@Posted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 8:25 am : One thing - apparently nobody has noticed or wants to notice:

I'm glad you're happy, one satisfied, a thousand more to go

I don't think the board provides this functionality. Surely not too hard to code with a phpBB mod, but before starting to modify the site heavily I want to wait for a gold release of phpBB3 (so far it's only a release candidate).
What I pretty much dislike is that images like the one you've attached open without any framework in the same window.
The Happy Friar@Posted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 6:27 pm : holy crap... i think you made the link to the forums very visible now.

Still screwing around - they're supposed to be a little smaller

BNA!@Posted: Thu Nov 01, 2007 7:44 pm : Since the search function of the board is someties a bit skewy we've added a google site search on the front page:
http://www.doom3world.org/index.phpEnjoy.
