If anybody is innarested, this month I set up a page on my band which started in the mid '70s, often recognized as garage / punk pioneers. (Interestingly, we have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity during the past few years, suddenly selling thousands of records including new vinyl pressings as well as CDs, and our original releases have been selling for hundreds of dollars each and getting increased airplay.)

Anyway it's just a simple WIP, but for now here it is:

Ha ha. Okay, let's see. This is me at Max's Kansas City in NYC. Another band, Blondie (not shown) in the audience:

I'm the one who's not Johnny Cougar, me old labelmate:

If you click on Pics on the site, you could see an updated family photo.

The songs were originally played at high vol. Anyway, I got the idea because I kept bumping into fan sites for our band, but we just let 'em keep running. Just like a lot of bands are doing remakes of the songs and multiple labels have been selling a lot of bootlegs of some of our original recordings, but it's no skin off me. I just put this out there this month, and I'm already communicating with a lot of friends from other bands. Maybe not everybody's cup o' tea, but pretty great so far...

I also had a band in Indy in the '80s, with the founding bassist of Zero Boys, founding drummer of Your Parents, and founding guitarist of The Panics II. Was nice, but I had less and less time for it all. There were some great places to play in Indy as well as Bloomington.

I figured this could possibly be "Let's talk about it" because that's what we're doing, but "Pimping" is surely okay by me too. I figured I'm not doing it to get anything. Some of the guys are actually in the bands as their only job, but neither that nor the game programming have really been anywhere near my main source of income. One of The Gizmos (Tim Carroll) is a Grammy award winner, which is great. I just wanted to share this special facet with my friends here at Doom3World. You are now also a Myspace Music friend.

Yeah, thanks for that info. That wikipedia entry sounds like it was written by one of the subsequent labels of a couple of the band members, as it's quite distorted, but that's wikipedia. The Gulcher Records label's page at http://www.gulcher.gemm.com is a bit more thorough. BTW, I am not part of Gulcher Records and I don't work on their page but it is a good respected indie label. I also heard about this at VH1: http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/gizmos/13 ... lbum.jhtml

By the way, I noticed this fansite recently:
http://www.myspace.com/gizmosthe
Seems like it got a little out of control too, but I am new to myspace within the last couple of weeks so I am just checking a few of 'em out so far.

I just wrote a new song "Open" this month, and posted it on Myspace tonight. Site is listed above. I'm allowing people to add it to their Myspace pages if they want.

BTW, if anybody adds a comment tonight, theirs will be next to the lovely and sweet Sophie B. Hawkins...
