I'm always looking for the mmorpg revelation and it isn't age of conan...
it's so... antiquated... and I'm not talking about the setting.

What do you say?

I agree, I am actually pondering re-subscribing to Anarchy Online after they perform their graphics upgrade myself.

I'm actually not quite sure why AoC sold as quickly as it did. I think it's mainly because of a lot of WoW Players who were looking for something new.

I tried to like the game, but it just doesn't catch me.

It must also be the most un-optimized game i have come across for a long time, it ran worse than Crysis on my standard rig - and that means something ;). They introduced some more tweak-settings now tho and it's better.
But damn, 26 fucking Gigabytes used on the Hard-Drive by this thing, they should have given the option to install a "low fidelity" Asset-Package for people with lower end systems, who will never see those super-high-res Textures anyway.

hype, slightly mature content and... of course violence.
a horde of primates. jez, everyone looks like the terminator... that can't be good =)

In my opinion, mixing the "default" mmorpg round-based combat system, we press some numbers to do cool stuff, with realtime "action" isn't the greatest idea. Especially if the enemys do not have any appearance of an A.I. - they're just "meshing the buttons" as the player has to do. Not much fun if you ask me. It can be done, but not like this...

Yeah..
the performance... haha... a.. a.. a... amazing!

I wonder what happened inside funcom. Anarchy Online was a really great game and some parts of the game were quite unique. And now they come up with "gather 3 stones from the stone pit" wow/quest/crap.

*brrrr*

Precisely that, the reason I left AO was because all my friends on there did as they got tired of the bugs. It was fine for me but I just couldn't recover from not having any of my friends or guildmates and failed to make new ones so I stopped, but I am pretty sure they have all those bugs fixed now...:D

Wow, Anarchy Online is still around? Last time I heard that title there was like 5 people left playing it and that was over 6 years ago

Yeah, they appear to be doing surprisingly well. Check out their 7th anniversary video they posted, or is it all just propaganda, hah, that would suck. Who knows tho, I'm just holding on to my money for now. Viva le emulators!
