it may be just me, but I'd say id is selling out by taking popular IP's & putting them on their DnD style RPG game, just to get extra cash. Orces & Elves was new, but now it's "game X RPG!". When's the Quake RPG come out? :)

Aww, I don't know. You can't fault someone for their output level. They're just making games, a lot of games. Sure, they do re-use the same IPs over and over. I guess that means that it's easier to write engines than it is to create new fictions. but perhaps the two go hand in hand, and there is something implicit in the process that says that you should also dream something new up each time.

Most every game company out there does the same thing. Blizzard has been cycling through 3 IP's for the last ~15 years.

They are a company and capitalize their intellectual property. Their sole purpose is to be successful, which gets measured in cash after all. With development cost propelling into movie production levels (without even having to recriut one of these 10 Million per move stars) I'm happy to hear they rely on thier own equity rather than borrowing from the bank or handing their freedom over to a developer. I'd do just the same.

I think it looks really good, really hoping it gets ported to the DS.

I wish Orcs and Elves II would hit the DS, I had a lot of fun with the first this summer. I agree I wish they would concentrate more on original titles, just like with the new PC projects probably the one I'm most excited about is Rage because it's new, it's been a very long since we've seen anything new. Even Valve has been making HL sequel after Sequel, I'd just like to see it get wrapped up and move on to something fresh for a change.
