yeah, sorry. i didn't have time to write a big review, but its been on mind since i saw it. its haunting, dark & sinister, but yet the pace of the movie is relentless. you have no time to ponder what just happened or what you think might happen next because the movie doesn't allow you to. it move briskly from one scene to the next.

the musical score is down right eerie and unsettling at times. the sound effects are awesome (at least in the theater i saw it in). great cinematography too.

i have some nit-piks with it, but over all i'd give it a B+ or maybe an A-

goliathvt@Posted: Mon Jul 21, 2008 3:33 pm :
Easily the best Batman to date. I agree it's very much a contender for movie of the year. So dark and gritty, the way Batman should be. I loved it.

Heath's performance was quite the swan song, too. I foresee copious posthumous awards given to him.

Here's an example, Track 1 "Why So Serious". The first minute of this track is an eerie tone. When you hear it in the theater, you know the Joker is gonna do something f*cked up.

I saw it tonight, just got home, excellent movie. I kept hearing people rave about heath Ledgers role and I thought it was just the sympathy vote because of his recent tragedy but I was pleasantly suprised to find to see he did play an excellent role worthy of a posthumous oscar if that's possible. Great movie.

mavrik65@Posted: Mon Aug 04, 2008 9:50 am :
yeah, I thought it was great the darker super hero theme is definitely something new and it was nice to have a hero who could be more vengeful, act above the law to catch the criminals ( fight fire with fire ). I also thought the joker was a great character ( that disappearing pencil trick was pretty funny in a sick way ). I'm only really talking about the story, but there's not really much to say about the rest of the film the special effects made cool looking car chases, the photography was flawless and the characters were pretty decent.

I suppose the main thing is that the film kept true to the original comics/graphic novels.

qwertz123@Posted: Tue Aug 05, 2008 6:20 pm :

Don't know who you heard the "lots of action" part from. This movie is more character and story-driven, like Iron Man. There is only a mild amount of action in Dark Knight (that's not a bad thing  )
