http://archive3d.net/but when u download them it only come with 3 files, 2 that actually matter, one is a text document about archibase.net and the 2 others, in this case, are Gates.3DS and Gates.gsm. wat should i do now becuz in ur tutorial about "How To Bring a Textured Mesh into Doom 3" it says that it must be a ASCII Scene Export. the model is already textured btw.(srry about wat i said earlier

)
Brain Trepaning@Posted: Sat Aug 02, 2008 6:52 pm : Great site!
I don't know what you have at your disposal for 3d programs, but I would just bring the .3DS into 3ds Max and export it as an ASE.
Brain Trepaning@Posted: Sat Aug 02, 2008 7:04 pm : Using the first model, the hanging lamp, in 3ds Max, I had to:
scale it to a proper Doom 3 world size
Use MultiRes and reduce the polycount a lot
Add a smoothing group to the entire mesh
Render to Texture using Automatic UV Unwrap
Export as an ASE

Doomguy87@Posted: Sat Aug 02, 2008 8:51 pm : so the model doesnt come textured???
Brain Trepaning@Posted: Sat Aug 02, 2008 10:34 pm : As .3ds files, some would be "colored" in the 3d program and some would not. This one was not, so that's the default 3ds Max color that was used for its textures. By alternate example, the Chrysler car does have color in the .3ds file that can be rendered to texture.
Doomguy87@Posted: Mon Aug 04, 2008 1:47 am : so how do i get these models into the game give only these files?

Doomguy87@Posted: Fri Aug 08, 2008 8:14 pm : hey brian, i followed the directions on ur getting a textures static mesh tutorial exactly and my texture wont show up in the game, wtff is going on
