If you want to watch it, the VP debate is available on YouTube:

I'd love to get feedback from forum members on this.

I only watched the first hour of the debate last night, and I couldn't understand a lot of the stuff they said. They also, especially Palin, kept going off-topic and wouldn't answer the questions presented to them. I also found Palin's giddy, upbeat tone a tad annoying. She reminds me of another stereotypical, average-intelligence soccer mom.

Overall, it didn't seem like there was any real "winner". It got boring, and I had more important things to do. Did I miss anything better that happened after the first hour?

I thought this pretty much summed up Palin's performance:

I mean, really... did she answer a question directly with any detail the entire night? All I heard were campaign stump speech talking points. Thirty days from an election is not the time to be repeating a list of one-liners... it's time to talk about the heart of the matter.

Biden did that well. Palin did not.

^^ That pretty much sums it up; love the diagram, goliathvt! I'm gonna save it and make it my new desktop wallpaper.

I was just listening to a radio talk show right now and one host said she and her GF played a drinking game last night for every time Palin mentioned McCain was a maverick. She got completely wasted.

I watched it for the most part and have to say Sara Palin performed better than expected and Joe Biden also performed well. I can understand the Republicans are happy Palin didn't totally slip again, the same holds true for Democrats and Biden.

The whole debate however did not feel like a debate, especially not in respect what ever VP candidate thinks himself. A staged event of manifested insubstantiality would describe it better - I'd go so far to project this opinion across the whole election ceremony. The advertising agencies are probably the only ones who benefit from this campaign.

And yes, one participant had the habit to repeat certain phrases over and over.

More frightening than that is the fact that she has NO idea what the "Bush Doctrine" is...

Holy shit.

Wow, that's pretty bad...this woman is worrying me. I'll admit, I had to look up the Bush Doctrine a few minutes ago, but that's no reason she, the "educated" politician, shouldn't know it. I can almost see the grim reaper hovering over McCain, so it's safe to assume that if he wins, Palin would be the one that leads this country into the ground.
