My question is simple and potentially dumb.

I'm getting DDR3 ram that runs at 1600mhz.

Will the 790i support it?

I take it back, it says (3-Way SLI Support) EVGA nForce 790i SLI Mainboard FSB1333 DDR3 PCIe x16 SATA RAID w/ USB2.0,&7.1Audio

Not the 790i Ultra, and not the 790i FTW.

So will THAT be able to run ddr3 ram running at 1600mhz (NOT OC'd)?

even the 790i runs the ram up to 2000mhz, as long as u get some micron based modules; the ultra is just higher binned. but do me a favor and wait another month for nehalem to arrive.

(dont forget the rank count: get 2x1gb and be on the happy side )
