One quick question. Is it possible to export .lwos from Modo to D3? So far, after reading through a few LW tuts and following along as best I can, I've only been able to get an untextured model ingame. Can it be done, or am I gonna have to dust off my old copy of Lightwave to export?

Modo exports lwo's just fine- easiest route to D3 in my book. Make sure your model has its poly's assigned to a shader with a valid material name, and that it's UV's are in a single map (name doesn;t matter, i usually just use the texture1 default)

Unless you have a 1xx version modo, lwo files work fine in d3 without any special care. 1xx version lwo's cause D3 to CTD for no apparent reason.
