Okay, if there's ever any doubt about the idea that Fox News is "fair and balanced," watch this in its entirety.

Joe Biden gets interviewed by Barbara West, the health and nutrition reporter for a local station in Florida and wife of a Republican media consultant. Most journalists will tell you that a good interview involves decent questions and any gaffes, trip-ups or lunacy that ensues is on the person responding to them.

Well, not for Mrs. West.

She asks a series of leading, borderline nonsensical questions that are full of ultra-right neo-con buzzwords and zero substance. Surprisingly, Biden takes his time and responds to each one, stopping only twice to ask if she was serious because he realizes the ridiculousness of the questions.

Okay, now listen to the FOX News commentary afterward... they act as if Biden didn't answer any of the the questions, they treat the interview as a serious piece of journalism, and then even try to portray Biden as angry or something when in reality he was laughing at the farce.

LOL. I almost prefer Hanity to this shit. Of course, any show that actually cites the Drudge Report just marks itself as completely stupid and useless when it comes to facts and integrity.

fox is as unbiased as CNN.

I've found some thins on public radio pretty unbiased. At least as unbiased as one can get.

I'm surprised and embarrassed by this because this is my preferred local news station. I just watched the 11pm news and you should see the promos they're running now. "We ask the tough questions." Only they aren't tough questions, they're loaded questions.

Case in point...

Aren't you embarrassed by the blatant attempts to register phony voters by ACORN, an organization that Barrack Obama has been tied to in the past?

If he answers with a simple yes or no he immediately concedes that Barrack is somehow guilty of trying to rig the election. It's about as fair as trying to implicate all Catholics as sexual predators because a few priests like molesting little boys.

What is? FOX News?

No.

WFTV. The ABC station that conducted the interview that goliath linked to.

i agree, biden did well in that interview.

but 2 points...

1. does it bother anyone that whenever someone challenges or threatens a democrat, democrat operatives attack them (and sometimes family members) personally or try to discredit them? joe the plumber, just a guy on the street asking obama a question, was venomouly attacked. his private and personal information was illegally hacked and released by democrats. this is scary & disturbing. we should be able to question our leaders without fear of retaliation. joe the plumber is just an average citizen asking some questions. what's the problem?

so barbara west asked some heavy questions of the future vp. big deal? he handled it pretty well, as he should have. but the democrat operatives then have to go and investigate her and her family's personal life? come on, get a grip people.

2. republicans are interviewed like this all the time.

No they're not. Show me an interview that has the same amount of leading questions.

"Are there Supreme Court decisions you disagree with?" (Couric interviews Palin)

is not the same thing as:

"How is Senator Obama not being a Marxist if he intends to spread the wealth around?" (West interviews Biden)

The first is a non-leading, viable question about Palin's views.

The second is a loaded, baiting jab that reinforces the right-wing slander and perspective before the answer is even given.

Good reporting versus terrible reporting.

Now, I'm glad Biden stayed with the interview and properly answered all of her questions. On the other hand, I can understand why the Dems decided to not make any further appearances on that channel because whoever is running it clearly doesn't have a grasp on how intelligent, probing interviews should be run.

Another interview I thought very interesting to watch was Obama on Bill O'Reily's show. Bill did frame several questions in a leading way (although not as loaded as Barbara West's tripe). Obama stayed with him and, for the most part, carefully answered Bill O's questions... and I think that is why, after the interview, Bill O had changed his impression of Obama and said he was a "tough," "serious" and "determined" guy.
