I plugged in my old C64 last night and gave The Blues Brothers a whirl. Man I love that soundtrack. There's some really classic sound from those games....ROBOCOP!!! :D

twisted metal 2/3/4 for playstation, quake and quake 2 for pc :) I'm sure there is some newer games, with music I like but as far as I can remember, these are a games that doubled as sound tracks, the cd could be put in a cd player and the sound track would play.

Lol, me too, but don't try to relisten to this soundtrack as i did last year, it's horrible! "she's a killer!" :D

There are many games OST that i love to listen, cause to be honest, i rarelly listen other musics than games OST.

My best "past" OST is certainly Starcraft, cause it make me feel nostalgic ;)
And for actual games: "The Witcher - Musics from the game" (not the Audio CD inspired from the game)

I have loads of .mid from game soundtracks and until a few months ago the only online radio I listened to was gamingfm.com. Sadly they went kaputt (thanks BNA!) so I'm back to local music files. It's hard to pick a favourite and (like music in general) depends on my mood and what I'm doing. Planescape: Torment music is great for relaxing. I often map listening to either Diablo II or Halo. Castlevania (especially IV's) and Ultima's are beatiful. UT Classic has some great music, DOOM, heck, there's really too many to just pick one. :D

My other post may made me sounded wrong - cause i does like "real" music better than the 8bit noises.
Vampire2 does have some nice licenced songs > ministry - bloodlines and few others.
Wouldnt mind to get tunes like from "System Of A Down" and "Disturbed" in games
( i dont link them since music-videos might get tracked by ) insteed of ambient stuff - however, fable got a catchy theme too.

PS: We had "Barracuda" in our local pub`s jukebox - like in every jukebox around the "world". :D

1. tony hawks pro skater 2 - gorilla radio ( by rage against the machine ).

2. doom3 theme tune - I'm not just saying this because it's a doom3 website, i actually really liked the theme tune, god bless metal.

3. prince of Persia warrior within - i stand alone ( by god smack ).

4. prey - that tune was pretty epic.

5. mario kart wii - it's so great when you win and the victory music plays.

The ambient stuff blended in with 30's/40's/50's tunes coming out of the phonographs and jukeboxes throughout the world. Creepy.

Quake 1. Less music, more of a game enhancement. I vote it because it was more of a watershed, a transition point.

Around the time, I also enjoyed unreal - music by triggered event. Some impressive atmosphere.

I found some youtube videos of the PC game Sanitarium. I love the music in the mansion part when you are walking through the characters childhood home except it is all dilapidated now and full of ghosts of past memories the sad piano music accompanied with the game setting actually stirred my emotions, that is something that does'nt happen too often.

Of course, there is a lot more than this. ^^

Because of this music (and other great things about this game such as variety of different places, level design, the sound effects, sound ambiance, graphics, visual effects etc, etc...), Unreal 2 will always be one of my all-time favorite games ever.
