And about time, too. :D

Even though I have a lot of respect for most of the game developers (it's a big feat to make a game alone). I am a huge opponent of securom. It is installed without prior notice of the user, acts like a rootkit, is not uninstallable (unless you're me or smart enough to do so) and causes all kinds of mayhem for many machines and configurations.

So I'm very happy to see this class-action happening.

I have Spore and probably half a dozen other games that uses securom - and no problems at all. I still support this though because I'm on principle opposed to the stupendous waste of money and alienation of (only!) paying customers that all forms of DRM is.

anyone else find it stupid that it's hard to sue a game company for installing software & nuking your comp w/o your permission BUT you can take a medication with a list of side effects & if you have one of those side effects you could sue AND win against the maker of the medication?
