We are currently looking for animators and environmental artist to help complete the Ruiner mod in time for a 2009 release. These positions are both short and long term. If you only have time to do one level or a couple of animations, that is OK.

Requirements and information on each position:

Environmental Artist requirements:
-medium to high skill level with making levels for Doom3.
-If your good at mapping, but not very good with scripting, we can help you out.
-Proof of skill in the form of screen shots, videos or playable levels done the past.
-Good communication skills, attitude and keep in touch regularly with the team.

Environmental Artist duties:
-Build, and light levels for third person over the shoulder game play
-Most of the key features of the mod are finished. This means you can start mapping right away.
-290 megs of textures and some custom props ready to be used.
-Level design concepts can be either your own or one of ours. We are very flexible and encourage our mappers to be creative.

Animator requirements:
-Proof of skill in the form of screen shots, or videos done in the past.
-Most of the animations are for existing models (md5mesh). The animators should be able to import and export this format in whatever program or programs they are currently using.
-Good communication skills, attitude and keep in touch regularly with the team.

Animator Duties:
-Help expand the animations of many enemies in Doom3. Ruiner features a new full locational based pain reaction system. We are adding in new reactions for most of enemies for them to behave correctly. A good example of games with similar systems are Resident Evil 4 and Dead Space. The system is working, the content just needs to be made

-Help create new player animations. Ruiner features a combo system which allows the player to perform many different types of moves and attacks with each weapons. The animator can add in almost any type of moves or combos they can think of. Good examples of moves that can be done are in games like Devil May Cry, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter, and God of War.

why join the team?
-Work with experience modders. Each of us has been modding for Doom3 for years and have done work for many released mods in past. This includes Z-Hunter, Fragging Free, Quake 2: Lost Marine, Last Man Standing and Quake 4: HardQore.
-No waiting to work. The mod is at a point in development that all the features we have listed on our website are fully working. Applicants can start work right away without having to sit around and wait for key features or assets to be added.
-Creative freedom and flexibility. Many of our best features have come from team member feedback. While the core of the game is locked down, we are still open to various tweaks or additions if its felt they are worth the time to add.

Applicants can either send Revility a pm on Doom3world, reply to this thread or in the forums on our main website. If anybody has any questions related to the listed positions in this thread, other possible positions or the mod itself, please feel free to ask.

Few images for the lazy ones that cannot read too much :D

I really wonder if there are animators around here :D
Look at the third shot and then think about Devil May Cry or Severance: Blade of Darkness. That's the idea.

I would really help on the animations, but I'm still an apprentice on character animations, I've done only first person weapons animations, and few character for cinematics. All I'm able to do is on x - MASS mod.

Also would like to add something for any interested mappers...

We are also accepting any non high tech already finished stand alone maps. We can work with the mapper to make them ruiner compatable, or our team can do the conversion. If a custom set of maps have been done the author would like to convert, we are accepting those as well.

Any donated maps that fit in with the mod's visual theme would be included in the gameplay demo. Any custom done campaigns (map packs) could be included too depending on their size.

Good multiplayer maps will be accepted too. These would be turned into arena style levels and used as seperate downloads or secret levels.

If the author has a high tech based map of great quality, we might be interested in them too. These would become seperate downloads.

The only real design requirement is no areas that forces the player to crawl through small parts, like small vent size passages. This is due to the thirdperson camera naturally.
