Hi, it's been a long time since I been on a forum epically here. I have been very busy working on my video game I've been developing for months now and playing with game servers I haven't had much time to socialize on forums or the internet except for gaming on TF2 and going to school.

I created a small game hosting company for CSS and TF2, I was wondering if anyone that these prices where at a good rang or thinks I'm going to get bombarded by people wanting a server.

Small description:
My hosting comes with FTP for your game servers if you wanted to upload custom content and I also provide very small fee for assistance with installation with mods. (I.E Event Script, Bettles Mod, SourceMod). I even added Rcon input on the website so you can add rcon commands where ever your at and even added Stats on the Admin area. I've been messing around with servers for a year and thought this would be a good way to get some income from my experiences.

http://www.bombinaid.com/cssandtf2servers/ - Has more details, the About Us has to be edited still FYI.

I'm not open for customers now, but if your interested go ahead and fill out registration form and I'll get to you when I open the site officially, I'm still working on some stuff and doing testing on the FTP and game servers. I'm getting 2 more PCs on the way in as a donation from my school on Friday, so I thought it was perfect project to work on computers more and get them cleaned and install Ubuntu on them.

BTW Nice to see old Doom3 community members still on!

dirt cheap prices. Are you hosting on a computer in your home or one @ a datacenter/something with a big pipe (bigger then home bandwidth)?

Vista = eh. My host uses linux but I'm not sure if you need to compile separate for linux source support.

Have people do a paypal donation. That's automatic so you don't bill them, it charges every month @ the same time.

My host lets me upload/remove/change any game content as much as I want for no charge. You do it all yourself.

I get a "request timed out" when I try to ping.

If you're running it on your own home computer you could have issues very very soon. I'd try running ~5 to 10 servers & once & see how the performance goes. My GSP has pretty powerful machines (quad duel core or 8 duel core CPU's) with ~24gb of ram & some game servers still give issues with other stuff running.

Well I mite run only 1-3 servers so I'm not too worried and I'm using my home computer and I don't think really the servers require a hole lot. I just don't want to see ugly console windows on my desktop. Thats why I got the 2 old 98 window century computers that I'll fix up and get Ubuntu on.

If more people where coming in I would have to contact my ISP to talk about the connection width. The connection isn't bad from Arizona to New York. Heck I even had a friend in Scotland that could connect to my server with no lag at all.

I'll look into the donation, doesn't sound bad.

I got FTP running to the server's content folder, using File Zilla Server for Accounts and FTP. The only thing I would do is assist in initializing the server and mods or hosting costume maps. So you can jump in the server's folder when ever and do some changes with your server's content and hit reload on your Admin page.

Are you trying to connect through CSS or some other 3rd Party?

I still have to try it I ran 2 at the same time and performance is still good. I'm going to try 4-5 this weekend.
