Hi guys, I have just configured QuakeEdit on my Windows 7 PC. Everything in the editor is working, but when I use the 'J' key to open the light editor something strange happens; after I set my light parameters and close the light editor, if I run the game with F2 I will not be able to fire with the equipped weapon; instead light entities will have an in-game green bounding box (as they usually have when selected in the editor) and if I aim at them and click with LMB the game will close and send me back to QuakeEdit, with the light editor open. While in the background the grunt I placed in my small map brutally kills me. Any idea? Thank you in advance!

Dario

I don't know how to open/use "editsounds" and "editlights", unless editlights is the light editor upon hitting 'j' within the map editor. But it doesn't sound like they're the same, because you're saying don't use editlights yet everyone who talks about lights talks about 'j' in the map editor.

Yet, I still get the same problems: there are times (though I have not yet correlated it the way the OP did) when I can't fire my weapons and the lights' green bounding boxes show up upon hitting F2. So AFAIK this is still unresolved, b/c I get the same thing and any potential solution has nothing to do with your proposed solution b/c I never seem to use those.

That's actually happened to me as well. I was launching my test room out, and...no can fire. I can move all right, and navigate. On top of that, I get green wireframe cubes on all the lights, guess that's what you get for being in "Editor Mode" when it comes to Quake 4.

EDIT: This is what I'm talking about...you can't shoot, and you have these green cubes around your light sources:

Just as a side note, this map puts Matthew Kane on board a Strogg cargo freighter en route to the moon of Stroggos, which I'm not too sure what the name of it is.
