I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I plug in a separate shortcut for QuakeEdit, as such:
"C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake 4\Quake4.exe" +set r_fullscreen 0 +com_allowConsole 1 +editor +vid_restart

However, just shortly after it launches, it almost immediately closes back out to Windows. How do I prevent the editor from just closing up shop just as soon as it opens? This is just plain weird.

I also have GtkRadiant 1.5 installed, if this is interfering with it, that's making me curious, since I map for a lot more id games than just Quake 4. However, I use the built-in editor for doing map compiling, and testing, etc...

I don't use "+vid_restart", nor do I have the SDK nor gkradient. But try taking out the last bit of your command, see if that helps.

Actually, now that I see it, I used the same command line that 3D Buzz uses (well, they show theirs being with Doom 3, but works equally for Quake 4, iirc), and no problems. Thanks anyway.
Just had to delete the shortcut and make a new one with their command line. I originally tried out the command line that was given in the Doom3World videos, and that was a mistake. Guess Quake 4's editor launch doesn't like all those commands, I guess. :D
