Since I can't seem to find a straight answer to my problems, I'm trying to use Sikkmod 1.1 for Resurrection of Evil (through Steam), and when I try to load the mod it freezes up and inevitably crashes. Before anybody asks, I have tried both methods of installation, but when I try to put Sikkmod into the d3xp folder I can't find it in the mod list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im allmost positive that its because you patched doom3 to 1.3.1 sikkmod was compiled against an older sdk so its game dll is incompatible with the latest patch.
try this its compiled against the 1.3.1 sdk http://code.google.com/p/realm/downloads/detail?name=game00.pk4&can=2&q= replace the game99.pk4 in the sikkmodd3xp folder with this pk4. just rename mine to game99.pk4 and replace the one in that folder with it.

Nope, unfortunately that didn't seem to work; it's still freezing up. Thanks for the reply, though.

Np :) btw dont put the sikkmod folder in the d3xp folder it wont work that way. Put it in the Doom3 folder now it should show up in mods.
As for crashing are you using an ati gfx card ? if you are theres been some problems with doom3 and ati mostly related to the catalyst AI. You can find info on how to disable it around the net but the easiest way is just renaming your Doom3.exe to something else. It can also be related to unstable hardware if it crashes to the Doom3 console (the blue window) try posting what it prints.

My card's an NVidia GeForce, which ran Sikk with basic Doom 3 with no problems, so that's not the culprit. Looking through the various comments on the ModDB page I've seen this was a common problem but I can't seem to pin down a solution that works.

Could you try posting your folder structure ? it should look something like this

base
d3xp
sikkmod
sikkmodd3xp
Doom3.exe
etc.

If it looks like the above all is ok, try deleting the DoomConfig.cfg files it sometimes helps here if the engine does something weird.

For comparison i use two nvidia 560 gtx though i turn of SLI for Doom3 cause it runs better that way.
Rest of the machine is a 950 corei7 24 gig ddr3 ram on an MSI big bang xpower mainboard (x58 chipset so its the old big bang).

Does it only crash with sikkmod enabled ? might be one of the shaders acting up. I noticed a bug in nvidias latest WHQL driver with the softshadow shader though it didnt crash, it made the game run awfully choppy the beta driver seems to have fixed that.

I can't even get the mod loaded - every time I try it freezes up at the "Initializing Data" screen. Perhaps I should try an older version or something else?
