some questions I have with the editor...I use to map in WC for halflife and I d/l'd Q3radiant last week before doom3 came out and picked it up pretty quick but d3radiant has some quirks I can't quite figure out

first is the window views - in q3 I could choose between different views and get me a WC type style in d3 I have no choices but default??

second is texture scaling - in q3 its really easy but in d3 it won't change unless I put in a different number for scale H/V then hit the fit button?...this can't be the right way as its just plain silly

lastly - I put a light in my map and it worked fine in respects to illumination and I could move it v/h in rendermode and watch it move but when I changed the color or light radius they didn't change..even after a rebuild??

You can get more than just the 1 grid viewport... but i prefer the default so I wouldn't know how to change.

Make sure you're not in "Render Mode" (F3), just to make sure.

If you want to scale a texture in half - put a "2" in the box then hit "ENTER". It'll then scale it by half... to make a texture twice as big, put in "0.5" then press enter... etc etc etc.

No no no no no nonononono onono noo.

When you have your light selected press "J", not "N", there is a brand new Light Editor for changing the radius and many other things. You must make sure you are in Windowed mode, not fullscreen.

thanks much, but in regards to question #2 - why would they decrease functionality...easy and quick scrolling vs manually entering values?

I agree. I keep thinking I must be missing something. Why would they take a step backwards? Now I have to play with so many different figures to get a texture as I want it. Seems very odd to me, and I can't believe the id designers didn't ask for an arrow button.

Are you guys talking about "scaling" or "scrolling"?

You can select a face of a brush, then hold SHIFT and use the arrow keys to move it around.
