Just to clear some things up:
- it is NOT a mod
- it is a project recreate stuff in the Doom3 engine
- it is not a Doom3 vs. XYZengine project
- it is not a gameplay exploration project
- we're doing it just for fun
- everybody is free to participate
- it indeed is a lot of fun to do so
Everybody involved please feel free to add to the list - I'm slowly getting tired of hearing all over it's a non-substantial mod designed to add better gameplay to Doom3...
zeh@Posted: Wed Feb 02, 2005 1:47 pm : From my POV, I'd say it's a tech demo of what the DOOM 3 engine can do that it's not obvious at first glance, and things that have been done on other games/engines (but not on the DOOM 3 game itself) that people want to show you how to do it before you think "DOOM 3 can't do <x> because the game itself didn't have <x> all over" - quite a common mistake these days. In other words, I think it can be seen as a huge sample of techniques - some of them exclusive to the DOOM 3 engine (because of its unified lightning system and other new features) and some of them already well known.
And yeah, it must be pretty fun to do. I wish I had the time to contribute to it...

How does that sound?

Almost corporate enough to raise funds
